Fire service’s move to Portishead to be debated

PUBLISHED: 14:12 14 September 2016

Avon Fire and Rescue Service’s move and its impact on traffic will be discussed tonight (Wednesday).

The emergency service announced this summer it would move to Portishead within the ‘next 12 months’, as it looks to shift its administrative operation from Temple Back in Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has agreed for the fire service to share its headquarters in Valley Road.

However, Portishead Town Council will discuss the move and the likely traffic implications at its meeting tonight, which will start at 7.30pm at The Folk Hall.
