A group of children had to be rescued on Clevedon seafront yesterday (Sunday) while trying to save a trapped baby animal.

The four youngsters were attempting to rescue a fox cub stuck in rocks near Clevedon Pier when Avon Fire and Rescue was called.

A crew from Clevedon and the service’s animal rescue team attended while the coastguard was also mobilised.

The children were walked back to safety while the cub was taken back to Clevedon Fire Station before being handed to the RSPCA.
