A WOMAN has had to be rescued from a house in Clevedon after a fire broke out.

Avon Fire and Rescue received a call at 1.38pm on Friday after a blaze started on the ground floor of a two-storey house in Wrangle Farm Green where four firefighters entered the property to bring the fire under control.

The woman was looked after by ambulance crews who treated her for the effects of smoke inhalation and shock.

Although it is not known what caused the fire, it is believed to be accidental and is not being treated as suspicious.
