HUNDREDS of people attended a Christmas tree festival at a newly-revamped church in Clevedon.

The event was held at Christchurch in Chapel Hill on Saturday and Sunday, when about 700 visitors had the chance to view the 41colourful trees entered in the contest.

Out of the schools, clubs and organisations which took part, the tree created by Clevedon Pier was chosen as the eventual winner.

During the festival, the St Nicholas Chantry Gospel Choir performed as well as Clevedon Brass.

It is thought more than 600 was raised, which will be split between the Children’s Society and Christchurch’s work with families and children.
