Avon and Somerset Constabulary are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was killed in a crash earlier this week.

A 43-year-old man died following a collision between his bike and a car.

The incident happened on the A369 in Easton-in-Gordano at about 9.30pm on Wednesday.

Police closed the road until the early hours of yesterday (Thursday) morning while officers investigated the scene and debris was cleared away.

The force confirmed today (Friday) that a Ford Fiesta was involved and wants anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the accident to get in touch.

Its spokesman said: "The cyclist, a 43-year-old man from Bristol, sadly died as a result of his injuries.

"If you saw any part of this collision, or have any information which could help us, please call the collision investigation unit on 101 and give the call-handler the reference number CI/121/19."
