A FAMILY business in Tickenham is holding a fun-filled summer event this weekend.

Lovewood73, which is based in the former Tickenham Garden Centre in Clevedon Road, wants to use the site to support local charities and businesses who are working for a good cause.

The summer fair is being held on Sunday from 11am-3pm and will boast a charity auction in aid of the Nailsea Uganda Water Project, more than 20 stalls brimming with crafts from Somerset, face painting, games, live music and a hog roast.

Barefoot Wines have also donated eight crates of wine for guests to sample during the day.

Lovewood73 was set up by David Mildon who makes bespoke furniture from reclaimed wood found all over North Somerset.

David set up the business with the help of his wife Sam, to enable him to work but also be available for their severely disabled daughter Bella, who is autistic and needs constant care.

The event is being officially opened by MP Liam Fox and the charity auction will be held at 1pm.
