Experts say the earthquake which struck the South West and South Wales only happens in the UK every 'two to three years'.

Tremors were felt in Clevedon, Portishead, Weston-super-Mare and across the area at about 2.30pm.

An earthquake measuring 4.4-4.7 was recorded near Swansea.

The British Geological Survey said: “Events of this magnitude only happen in the UK every 2-3 years.”
