Work on a new gym in Clevedon is set to be completed at the end of the month.

Everyone Active has been busy transforming a grandstand at Clevedon Town Football Club’s home ground in Davis Lane since August and is expected to open its doors to the public on October 31.

It will provide Clevedon with more than 60 pieces of gym equipment including a group cycling and exercise area, and weights zone.

The site will also have the capability to hold virtual workouts, where gym-goers can follow a workout on a big screen instead of copying an instructor.

The £500,000 investment has also seen the company change Clevedon Town’s ground name to The Everyone Active stadium and sponsor the team’s shirts, and also hopes it can also help the club’s on-field fortunes.

Gary Teagle, Everyone Active contract manager, said: “The gym will be the biggest in town and we have three or four rooms to possibly add to the facility.

“We started pre-selling on October 5 and already have up to 70 memberships which is pretty good.

“We are also working with Mickey Bell to raise the profile of the site and get it back on the map.

“This is our first venture in North Somerset and if it works there could be other opportunities.”

As well as providing fantastic indoor fitness facilities, outdoor 3G pitches are available to hire by members of the community and an outdoor event space can also be hired.

Membership costs £19.99 per month and also includes a card to allow secure access to the gym and refurbished changing rooms.
