A SUCCESSFUL show choir from Backwell is heading to New York to perform in a national championship.
The Euphoria Show Choir will become the first British group to perform in the National Show Choir Championships of America.
The 30 singers and dancers from across North Somerset have saved £30,000 over the past 18 months to take part in the competition on March 8.
Euphoria will perform a 30-minute set of songs by British songwriters and bands including Queen, Take That and Olly Murs with one especially composed for the event by the choir’s musical director Rachel Walker which features a stunning ballet dance by former professional ballerina Lisa Gater.
All the dances have been choreographed by directors of dance, Tina Kelly and Emma Mason.
A preview of their songs for the New York event is being presented at Backwell School on Saturday. More details and tickets are available from osmansteve@yahoo.co.uk
