VISITORS to the annual Clevedon Flower Show and Festival this weekend will be sure to find many displays, shows and musical acts to entertain them.
The event on Saturday and Sunday will feature two days of non-stop entertainment including marching bands, jazz bands, tribute groups including Niel Diamond, Elton John and Abba, as well as the Bristol Harlequin Majorettes European Champions and children’s entertainment and rides.
There will also be a grand display by the Bridgwater Charter of the Harley Davidson Motor Cycle Club as well as a large display of vintage army vehicles and artillery.
A companion dog show on Sunday from 10.30am will be run by Clevedon and District Dog Training Club. There will be many classes including those for puppies, hounds, gundogs, working dogs and veterans. There will also be classes for the best child handler, best rescue dog and the dog with the waggiest tail. Entries will be taken at the showground.
As well as this, the show will boast more than 300 horticultural, craft, children’s and domestic science classes.
Apart from the traditional plants, flowers, fruit and vegetables that can be entered, along with photography, artworks, cakes and preserves, some of the classes are for more unusual items including a model made from Lego.
The event on the Salthouse Fields, organised by Clevedon and District Horticultural Society, will run from 1-6.30pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday.
