A PORTISHEAD teenager raised a whopping 1,200 in just three days after taking part in a charity abseil challenge.

Elle Chandler abseiled 100ft down the side of Bristol’s former tobacco factory building to collect cash for the armed forces charity Help for Heroes.

The 15-year-old Gordano School student took part in the event at short notice but still managed to raise the impressive amount through sponsorship from friends, family and anybody else she could convince to donate to the cause.

Elle’s mum Tiffany said: “She couldn’t wait to do it and really enjoyed it.

“Thank you to everyone who sponsored her.”
