Volunteers are needed to help with the battle against speeding drivers in two villages.

The speedwatch team in Yatton and Claverham are often out clocking the speeds drivers are travelling at.

Busy routes such as Yatton High Street and Claverham Road are frequently targeted as drivers all too regularly stray over the 30mph limit.

Those caught speeding are referred to the police who can send a warning letter to drivers. They cannot be fined or cautioned however, unless they are caught by the police.

The speedwatch team needs people who are willing to spare two hours per week to help deter drivers from going too fast on roads which often have schoolchildren and elderly people walking along the pavement.

Speedwatch experience is not required, as a 15-minute training session is held for would-be volunteers.
