CHILDREN from primary schools in Clevedon and Tickenham delivered some impressive speeches during a public speaking contest.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Clevedon, the event saw youngsters aged seven to 11 deliver talks on a wide range of topics with confidence and skill.

The judges had a difficult task choosing the prize-winners but eventually decided Millie Morris from All Saints’ Primary School should receive the Key Stage One prize and Emily Williams of Tickenham Primary School should be rewarded the Key Stage Two prize.

All participants received a certificate and an illustrated dictionary, which were presented by Rotarian and Clevedon Town Council chairman Jon Middleton.
