AWARDS have been handed to six Gordano School pupils in recognition of their writing skills.
Students at the Portishead school were handed certificates by members of the town’s Rotary club after taking part in the group’s young writer competition.
Entrants had to write 500 words around a topic entitled Light Up the Community.
The winner was Flora Evans with honourable mentions for Elin Battista, Katie Ford, Jenna Mair, Natalie Major and Rosa Matthews.
