ATHLETES from Portishead are celebrating after making it through to the regional finals of an athletics competition.
Young sports stars from High Down Junior School won the North Somerset Sports Hall Athletics competition against nine other schools from the area.
The 25-strong team is now preparing to take on teams from across Devon and Cornwall in the South West finals at the University of the West of England in Bristol on Monday.
During the competition the youngster took part in relays, high jump, long jump, triple jump, javelin, chest push (similar to shot putt) and speed bounce (similar to hurdles).
