New pupils at a school in Nailsea were presented with a free book to welcome them to secondary school life.
The year seven students from Nailsea School, in Mizzymead Road, were treated to a new book from a list of eight titles by bestselling authors.
The books were then given out to the pupils by the student librarians.
School librarian Ellie Taylor organises the free giveaway each year in conjunction with literacy charity BookTrust.
She ensures funds are raised so the school can take part in the worthwhile scheme which promotes and celebrates reading for pleasure among students.
