BUDDING writers have been presented with prizes and certificates by the Rotary Club of Portishead, after entering a literary contest.

More than 50 Gordano School students entered the Rotary Club’s 2013 Young Writers Award competition.

The students were asked to write a letter to someone of their choice about the theme of peace.

Year nine students Evie Steward, Charis Winter and Amy Clay were highly -commended by the Portishead Rotary Club judges.

Tilly Muir also in year nine was chosen as the winner and her entry has now gone forward to the district heats.
