Young explorers dressed up as gardeners as part of a wow day which launched their new class topic.
Year one pupils at Trinity Primary School in Portishead will be studying items linked to the subject - what’s at the bottom of the garden?
Children planted sunflower seeds, went on a leaf hunt, learned about the parts of flowers and trees and also made a flower out of sweets.
The youngsters also sketched different vegetables to see what parts are eaten.
Later in the term they will enjoy a Farm to Fork trip to Tesco to learn where food comes from.
