BUDDING entrepreneurs at Backwell School who organised a Winter ball for the newcomers hailed the event ‘a huge success’.
The sixth form’s young enterprise group Business in Action (BIA) set up an events company who managed the festive get together.
More than 100 year 7s enjoyed two and a half hours of music provided by ‘renowned’ sixth form DJs.
Food and drink was sold and several dance routines were instigated, including the world’s longest conga, organised by Santa Claus.
Awards were given out at the end of the night for the best dressed and best dancers. The BIA plans to reinvest its profits in its next venture in the New Year and if successful, a proportion of the profit will be given to charity.
