A Viking warrior led lessons at Flax Bourton Primary School as children learnt about the Scandinavian pirates.
Children in years three and four turned up to school dressed as Vikings and were greeted at the gate by a Viking named Oi.
Oi – also known as Lauren from Portals To The Past workshops – gave pupils a taste of what life was life for Vikings as the children took part in fact-finding games, solving and creating new riddles and inspected real chain mail armour.
Pupils were able to see the weapons they would have used and they dressed up as warriors ready to plan their attacks on unsuspecting ships.
The children benefitted from the lessons which brought the subject to life for them.
