Pupils, parents and staff from a Backwell school have marked its 80th birthday with a series of celebrations.
Children from Fairfield School helped to plant an oak tree in the playground to mark the school’s eight decades.
The school also held its annual founders’ day service, with a speech from the first pupil on the register, followed by a ball.
Headteacher Lesley Barton said: “We are thrilled to be celebrating Fairfield School’s 80th birthday. It is a momentous occasion and it has been lovely to see current and past pupils and staff involved in the celebrations.”
