Churchill Academy’s top students were praised at its annual presentation evening on September 12, with more than 130 awards handed out.

George Rabin won the headteacher’s prize for best GCSE performance, while Hanna Whydle and Lucy Nolan shared the headteacher’s prize for best A-level results.

Former Churchill student and TV actress Stefanie Martini, who has starred in shows including Doctor Thorne, Emerald City and Prime Suspect 1973, was the school’s guest of honour and handed out the awards to pupils.

She also delivered a speech on how her time at Churchill has shaped her career, before musical performances from Lucy Buncombe and brothers George and John Skeen closed the night in style.
