More than 30 students from Nailsea took part in a masterclass to improve their communication skills.

Pupils from Nailsea School worked with expert trainers from Talk The Talk and learnt how to use persuasive language techniques to get their message across.

The aim of the workshops was to improve interview techniques and presentation skills to prepare students for employment.

Talk The Talk is a charity which aims to improve students’ communication skills and the workshops enabled the pupils to deliver a two-minute presentation.

Nailsea School teacher Sophie Rutty said: “For many of these students the idea of standing in front of an audience and delivering a presentation prior to the course would have been inconceivable, but seeing the progress they made throughout the day has been phenomenal – the speeches were delivered with structure, confidence and passion.”
