Wrington Vale Rotary Club held a children’s music competition to find the best young talent in North Somerset.

Thirteen pupils from across six primary schools took part in the annual young musician competition, which was held at Churchill Academy and Sixth Form on February 8.

A club spokesman said the competition featured some top performances.

He said: “With ages ranging from six to 10 years of age, the audience and parents enjoyed a very varied evening of contributions from violins, clarinets, pianos, electric guitar and vocals playing or singing a whole range of musical items.

“Eventually the adjudicator for the evening, Paul Harrison, had the unenviable task of selecting a winning musician and singer from the performances provided.

“Commenting on each person’s contribution, he eventually selected Maisie from Sandford primary as the winning musician and Jorja, also from Sandford primary, as the winning vocalist.”
