Year six girls at Portishead’s High Down Junior School travelled to Sheffield to compete in the national schools swimming final.

The young swimmers smashed their personal best time – recording the fourth quickest time in the country for their age group – to reach the final. A strong showing in the final saw the girls finish sixth. It was a major achievement for the girls, with 27,000 schools eligible to take part.

Arctic meanwhile won the schools’ house swimming gala, held at Portishead Open Air Pool.
