Portishead Lions has been helping the next generation with its donation to Gordano School.

Before the end of term, the group handed a life skills package to Mike Oxenham, head of the school’s personal, social, health and economics education curriculum.

The programme will help students aged 11-14 with a variety of social aspects, including the potential dangers of drugs and gambling.

A Lions spokesman said: “Schools today are increasingly expected to provide more than academic education and this inevitably means pressure on resources at a time when there are financial constraints.”
