Children spent the day making bracelets, bangles, shields and swords from Roman times.
Year four children from Golden Valley Primary School also baked honey cakes and created life-sized collages of Roman soldiers.
On a number of occasions throughout the day, the pupils marched across the playground following instructions in Latin to mark the start of their new topic.
