Sports stars from Nailsea School were presented with awards to celebrate their achievements.

The Sports Personality event was held at DoubleTree by Hilton Cadbury House in Congresbury and students dressed in their finery to mark the occasion.

Teams and individuals were celebrated with awards, including manager's player and players' player.

Callum Sheedy from Bristol Bears attended the spectacle and talked about his inspirations before answering students' questions.

Rebecca and Ewan, from year 11, were crowned Sports Personality of the Year.

The ceremony has been running for nine years and is the brainchild of PE teacher Daniel Van Grudgings, who is leaving the school this year.

He said: "It has been an honour watching you grow as sports people, and develop strength of character. Nailsea students will always hold a place in my heart and I feel privileged to have been a part of your lives."
