Children from Pill and Portishead came together to confront the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future at a festive-themed workshop based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, on Saturday.
The workshop for children aged five to 10, hosted by the Story Cellar at Pill Memorial Club saw the kids, with the help of their parents, use tape, tubs, and tinsel to create crazy hats.
The children then took part in an interactive retelling of Dickens’ classic tale, which saw them help the miserly Eversneezer Rouge see the error of her ways on Christmas Eve.
Attendees took on the roles of characters in the story, sang and danced to festive songs, had snowball fights, and defeated ghosts, during the improvised play which they showed to their parents. The group returns for a six-week course of improvisation classes for 10 to 16-year-olds from January 3.
