St Katherine’s pupils celebrate best ever results.
TEENAGERS in Pill have gained the best ever GCSE results at St Katherine’s School.
Pupils and staff have been celebrating after it was revealed that an astonishing 90 per cent of pupils achieved five or more A*-C grades, the highest ever figure achieved by a North Somerset school.
This is the sixth successive year the school has seen GCSE results improve since 2005 when just half of pupils achieved such grades.
The school’s highest achievers include Amy Harris (10A* and 6A), Tom Armstrong (7A* and 4A), Alex Perkins (6A* and 4A), Jodie Richardson (6A* and 4A), Hannah Tirbooman (6A* and 4A) and Taryn Chilton (6A* and 2A).
Elli Mcgurk and Rowan Newman gained five A*s and seven As and Dan Moreton, Montana Mulzac, Isabel Sharp, Hannah Smith, Louise Rowbotham and Bethany Howe all achieved four A*s and the rest As.
Headteacher Stephanie Quayle said: “This school year has been an incredibly successful one for St Katherine’s School as we saw the opening of our brilliant hospitality facility and student-led community restaurant, an excellent Ofsted report and outstanding A-level results last week.
“Today’s GCSE results, with 90 per cent of students achieving five good GCSEs, top all these achievements.”
