WORDSMITHS from across North Somerset gathered to take part in an annual spelling competition.

Nearly 60 children from 13 schools took part in the Spell It contest at Fairfield School by taking on word games, anagrams and spelling activities.

A team from St Peter’s Primary School in Portishead came first place, closely followed by Grove Junior School in Nailsea.
