School to get new safety sign
A FLASHING 20mph sign could soon be installed outside Flax Bourton School to encourage drivers to slow down.
The school is situated on Station Road which drivers often speed down and parents and teachers fear for pupils’ safety as they travel to and from school.
The school’s appeal for a crossing patrol was turned down as it was considered to small to warrant one, but North Somerst Council has now confirmed it has the funds to install a 20mph flashing road sign to slow traffic down.
It is hoped the new sign will be set up this summer.
