Trinity Primary School in Portishead has received a gold national certificate for the standard of its religious education programme.

Teachers were praised for the creative lessons they put on for students.

The school’s strong partnership with Anglican and Methodist churches was also highlighted by the RE Quality Mark assessors.

Headteacher Karen Sancto said: “We were delighted to receive a certificate and gold national award for the RE at Trinity Primary School.

“This is an amazing achievement and a number of schools and the diocese are coming to see what we do here to help pupils develop the RE knowledge and understand the diversity of the world we live in.”
