CLEVEDON School has been chosen to take part in a major new school twinning project aimed at boosting global education.
The Valley Road school has been selected to be part of Connecting Classrooms, a UK Government and British Council initiative set up to allow pupils to learn more about the world around them and the challenges facing youngsters across the globe.
Teachers and students will develop links with Lenana School in Nairobi and one teacher from Clevedon will also take part in an exchange visit to work on classroom projects with the Kenyan school.
Clevedon School headteacher John Wells said: “We are committed to developing the global awareness of our students so they are equipped with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to live and work as global citizens in a multi-ethnic, multi faith and technologically advanced global community.
“It is important our students recognise their contribution and responsibilities as citizens of this global community.”
