Pupils at a Congresbury primary school are starting their days with a healthy dose of activity, thanks to the launch of a new fitness scheme.
The ‘morning mile’ programme sees children and staff at St Andrew’s Primary School run 13 laps of the playground, before settling down to lessons.
Organiser Julie Mayo said: “The morning mile promotes the benefits of exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle.
“It improves fitness and wellbeing, but it also provides increased focus and concentration during lessons.
“It has been running for three weeks and is very successful.”
