Staff and pupils at a village school are delighted to have received an outstanding Ofsted report.

Inpectors rated Flax Bourton Primary School outstanding in every category - a marked improvement on its previous good rating.

Co-headteachers Lorraine Woollven and Jane Bennett said: “We are delighted with the Ofsted outcome and are hugely proud of everyone.

“As the report notes ‘aiming high, respecting others, having fun’ are the school’s values. Everyone at Flax Bourton Primary School does all of these things exceptionally well.”

The report states: “Teaching is frequently outstanding and never less than good in all classes.

“Achievement is outstanding as a result of the relentless drive from all adults to constantly improve the progress of every pupil.”

The school was also priased for its strong sense of community, close with the church and huge support from parents.
