STAFF and pupils at Backwell Junior School are celebrating after receiving an outstanding Ofsted rating.
The inspector’s report highlighted outstanding achievement throughout the school and excellent progress of pupils of all levels of ability.
The teaching observed was reported to be ‘exciting, interesting and engaging’ and pupils’ attitudes to learning were marked as ‘exemplary’ while their behaviour was ‘courteous and respectful’.
The reported stated: “Since the previous inspection, the headteacher has successfully focused on taking teaching to the highest level.”
Headteacher Alex Bell said: “We are all absolutely delighted with our outstanding judgment from Ofsted.
“We all work extremely hard to ensure the children have the best possible experience here. It’s great to have this recognised by Ofsted.”
