Children from a Portishead primary school joined community groups and schools from across the world to celebrate Commonwealth Day.
Pupils from Trinity Primary School have been learning about the Commonwealth over the past few weeks. The school purchased a new Commonwealth flag and people gathered in the playground to watch it flying following a ceremony on Monday.
More than 850 flags were raised throughout the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, UK overseas territories, and Commonwealth countries.
