PUPILS from St Katherine’s School were rewarded for their entries to a national writing competition.

The contest organised by the Christian Projects Group in London, entitled the 2013 Bibles Schools Project, saw students in years nine to 12 at the Pill school hand in submissions.

When they returned to school for the new academic year they discovered they had each won an edition of the Bible and the Gospel according to John.

Jo Carrington, head of the English faculty said: “Our students had been singled out from among hundreds of young people who had entered the competition.

“The task was to write an original story, imagining themselves at an event in the life of Christ. The standard was so high and their stories showed great imagination and literary skill.”
