PUPILS from Flax Bourton Primary School will have a permanent reminder of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee after the parish council issued them all with bone china commemorative mugs.
The gifts were presented by parish council chairman Roger Higgins when the Olympic torch was carried through the village.
The children got up early to welcome the cavalcade by waving flags and stood next to two eight foot banners designed and bought by the council for the Olympic and Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Clerk Ruth Eager said: “It was a brilliant turnout on the day with a great community sprit and the children were pleased with their mugs.”
Spare mugs are available from the village hall at a cost of 6 each.
