Sports fans at a Nailsea school have been given exciting new roles to help organise events and clubs for pupils.
St Francis Primary School has chosen eight sports leaders to help plan activities for fellow pupils and showcase the sports on offer after school hours.
A school spokesman said: “Introducing sports leaders into our school has provided children with the responsibility and opportunity to showcase their sports and leadership skills.
“The sports leaders role involves the children organising sports events, clubs and encouraging others to get involved.
“Already we have discussed new after-school clubs, equipment and getting key stage one children more involved.”
The young leaders have been helping to set up after school sports clubs and making a note of new equipment which is needed for games.
