A group of students from Nailsea School enjoyed a trip to the Houses of Parliament and a ride on the London Eye.

The young students from the school council got to watch democracy in action at Westminster.

They then worked in groups to design a campaign for change, choosing subjects including the EU, changes to exam grading, the curriculum compared to European schools and the rising price of chocolate.

School president Alex George said: “It was amazing to witness first-hand the parliamentary system at work in such a magnificent, historically fascinating building.

“It is essential young people are educated about how their country is governed, so they know how to get involved.”
