PUPILS from Backwell have been finding out about stories from the past so they can prepare a musical performance.

As part of North Somerset Arts Week, students from Backwell School have been meeting with Alliance Homes residents to listen to their musical memories.

The pupils will now compose a song which will be performed for the residents next month.

Karen Bennett, from Alliance Homes, said: “It was really inspirational and heart-warming to see people from different generations sharing stories and musical influences.

“Everyone involved had a wonderful time and it really brought home the fact that music plays such an important part in people’s lives, sometimes more than we realise. We are all really looking forward to hearing what the Backwell School pupils create.”
