AN AUTHOR and poet visited students to talk through her work and inspire young writers.
Year eight pupils at Nailsea School enjoyed sessions with Fiona Hamilton, who wrote Bite Sized - a story in verse about anorexia, relationships and love. Fiona has written two poetry books - Skindandi and Poems for People. Pupils were also inspired by readings of Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo about the trauma of war. Some of their work will feature in an Armistice event at Nailsea Tithe Barn next month.
