Fortunate pupils in Portishead got to enjoy new playground equipment before breaking up for the school holidays.
Portishead Primary School was awarded almost £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund and used the cash to install fitness equipment.
The new tyre park was put down at the beginning of March and more playground markings are been put down over the school holidays for when the children return after the Easter break.
A school spokesman said the children loved the changes.
She added: “We are working really hard to improve our play provision, with school leaders working closely with children from the school council, our lunchtime supervisor team and our friends of school.”
