More than £15,000 has been forked out for new play equipment in Portishead, delighting children.
Youngsters have been enjoying a new climbing frame and bridge which was installed at the Station Road play area adjacent to Parish Wharf Leisure Centre earlier this month.
The new equipment, which was chosen after a vote by Portishead Primary School pupils, replaced a climbing wall which fell into disrepair and was removed earlier this year.
The project was backed by a £15,000 investment by Portishead Town Council, plus £1,500 in section 106 money – which is contributions from housing developers – from the Moor Lane development.
The equipment was ordered in the summer before arriving a few weeks ago, and children from the primary school have already enjoyed testing themselves on the new selection of obstacles in the play area.
