TREES have been planted in the grounds of a Clevedon school as part of a national initiative.
Pupils at St Nicholas Chantry Primary School got stuck into the work to plant apple trees and birch trees as well as new hedges.
The school was one of 46 to receive a grant from The Tree Council to carry out the work as part of National Tree Week.
The children also raised money toward the project by taking part in activities run by The Friends of St Nicholas Chantry including the summer fair and Christmas parties.
