Plans to increase pupil numbers at Gordano School in Portishead have been well received, according to headteacher Gary Lewis.
Rising demand for secondary school places has prompted Gordano to consider adding an extra 28 places in 2018.
Mr Lewis, in his weekly report to parents, said: “We have had a significant number of letters of support from parents of primary-aged children in Portishead and Portbury.”
The final decision will be made by the Regional Schools Commissioner or the Secretary of State for Education.
