BEAUTIFUL ball gowns and trendy tuxedos were sported by hundreds of teenagers in Nailsea and Backwell for their end-of-year proms.
Year 11 Backwell School pupils made the most of their evening in the spotlight on June 22, with friends arriving at the Congresbury hotel, Doubletree by Hilton Cadbury House, in an array of sports cars, vintage cars, tractors and fire engines. A group of boys also made their way up the driveway on Space Hoppers.
On June 24, year 11 pupils from Nailsea School gathered at the Mizzymead Road school before travelling by coach to the Webbington Hotel in Loxton where they enjoyed food and a disco to celebrate the end of their GCSE exams.
Dressed in their finery, the youngsters did not let the rain dampen their spirits and headteacher David New described the atmosphere at the event as ‘terrific’.
