A Pill cancer charity has been given hundreds of pounds thanks to a school’s week of fundraising.
Sixth form students at St Katherine’s School spent a month organising a raising and giving (RAG) week for Penny Brohn UK.
Daily events including karaoke, a table football tournament and even a zombie apocalypse day helped raise a total of £225 for the charity.
Students also spent a day wearing their pyjamas and held a cake sale, while Penny Brohn community fundraiser Ian Riddell hosted an assembly at the school to talk about the charity’s work.
Penny Brohn UK community fundraiser Mr Riddell said: “We were delighted to have the support of a great school in our community and hope to keep working together in the future.
“The money could pay for 10 people to attend one of our healthy cooking demonstrations so they can learn to eat healthy and delicious food while dealing with the impact of cancer.”
